anyways, will update more if something exciting happens.

after barcelona...i made my way to nice. nice is great. the weather there was the best...

going through the old town with all the small cafes and cornershops was really amazing. spent the day at the beach and did some cliff jumping with some local kids. scary stuff!!!

now in bordeaux...only spending a day here...gonna do a winetour this afternoon. rite now its raining....so i hope it clears up by then

tonite im off to paris!!! wont arrive in paris till almost midnight....really hope my reservation at the hostels is secure....last thing i want to do is show up with no place to sleep!

finally made it to barcelona yesterday! couldn´t wait to leave madrid! i think 3 days there is good enough...but the last day was well worth it cause i was able to meet up with some dents girls! it was great seeing them...we did some shopping and sipped sangria and munched on tapas! i still have to try paellas...prolly tonite.

the train ride here was really long ...but i sat beside the great person who turned out to be one of the street performers you see on las ramblas...she does it only parttime...that was cool

once i arrived in barcelona i could feel the humidity and heat. way hotter than madrid. my hostels is pretty good...a lot of cool people there...but the reception guys are crazy!! they made a girl cry....they´re mad! they´re old and scary.

today i´m planning on hitting the picasso museum and doing a bike tour to see most of the sights.

gotta go...time running out

Wednesday, August 04, 2004

in madrid!

well..after 3 weeks in london, i´m finally in madrid! the last several days in london i hung out with some mac friends who came to london. it was good to have familiar faces around to talk to and hang out with. however, on wednesday i had my flight to madrid. had to go to heathrow the night before to catch my early morning flight. sleeping at heathrow wasnt the best experience. actually it was quite packed with travellers sleeping all over the place. i found myself a nice corner and slept on my pack for a couple of hours. after arriving in madrid...i discovered that they misplaced my pack and that i won´t be receiving it until tomorrow! that means same clothes til the next day! anyways...today just walked around visited prado museum and just walked. ate mcdonalds. how sad.

Saturday, July 24, 2004

breighton by the beach

today i took a day trip out to breighton. i was asking the dental students where a good place to go for a day trip would be and they suggested breighton. it's was only 1hr by train straight south to the coast.

set my alarm for 9am but was woken at 730 but the heat of the sun that shines though the window at that time. ate leftover fried chicken breakfast - cause we ran out of milk and to make it worse i ate it cold cause they still haven't gotten a microwave :P while eating was watching "the eye" a japanese ghost flick. well, didn't finish watching the movie.

before heading out to breighton i went to do some research on where i was going after london. after some debate i decided i'm going to fly to madrid instead of rome as originally planned cause some classmates of mine are gonna be there :) gotta look for hostels now....everything seems to be going fast!

well - about breighton. it was a nice town. reminded me of staten island, ny. cause of the docks, beaches and carnival stuff they have on a pier. wandered the small shops most of the time. the beach was full of pebbles, i guess that's why they call it pebble beach. bought fish and chips for the first time here and ate it while watching the surf.

Wednesday, July 21, 2004

london.

over the last couple of days i've taken it easy from all the touristy stuff. prolly since i've started clinics at Guy's hospital, i usually just walk around a bit then head back home. i should go exploring more - i still plan on going to nottinghill and some more museums for sure. also, need to try fish n chips still as well as visit Westminster, London Eye and Big Ben. where i work is between the 18-30th floor of the hospital and the view from up there is great - i'll take pics :) just today in oral surgery, the patient was impressed by the view looking towards Big Ben and the London eye. so dun think i'll spend like £20 to go to the london eye.

the first 3 days or so since i got here - i crammed most of the sights in.

so far...i've been to -

Picadilly, Leicester square, Buckingham palace (watched the changing of the guards), most of the big museums, Trafalger Square, Hyde Park, London Tower, Tower Bridge, Harrods, SOHO, Chelsea, many hours wandering/shopping New Bond Street and Oxford Street - searching for good deals which i cannot find! Millenium bridge, Tate Modern.

last nite, we set up the tv and dvd player and i watched tokyo raiders :P i know i should be going out but where i live there isn't much to do. it actually feels like i'm living on yonge street where the street is lined with small independent stores with flats above. the flat where i'm staying is above a cool furniture store. the place is actually quite spacious. it's great! :)

thinking about changing my travel plans by travelling around spain instead of italy. it's either one or the other, i can't do both.

anyways - library is closing. gonna search for some food :) eating alone can get lonely...grrr.

here i am at work now. today is the first official day. can't write too much rite now cause i'm using the secretary's computer and she just stepped out for a sec. done tons of stuff over the weekend - will update once i get my email password from the school.

saw some simple extractions this morning nothing too exciting.

very tired. slept maybe a couple of hours on the overnite plane. but at least i got 2 seats for my long legs cause no one was beside me!

opps 30sec left
